Dear Ms Rajina,
Foundation English Class can improving my reading skills. It force me to need to read as least 2 story books. But in the end, i know it help me in improving my english. Because i never thought that i can finished to read the all two books. So exited!
In writing skills, i known that i was poor in this skills. But through the enlish class, sometime I got the ideas that how to write a good essay. Maybe it not excellent, but better than before. That is a good improvement to me.
In listening skills, i got more improvement. Maybe got english class for 4 days in a week, i touched deeply in listening skills. Everyday i listened what Ms.Rajina and my friends were talking about.I was happy that understood what they told about. Because i got an experience told with a "white people". You all can imaging what the problems that i faced that time. I was so shamed.
Then, i also confident to speak english althought sometimes there got wrong grammar in speaking. Besides this, it also training my braveness in speaking english.
Ms.Rajina explain every difficult word to let us understand. Throungt the enlish class, i learnt more vobulary words and how to use the words well in writing essay.
We had to make a presentation group by group in the class. I got more improvement because it trained me to be braveness in present the topic that had given by Ms. Rajina. That is more difficult in using English languege in presentation compare with using in Malay languege. But i will try my best. That's will become a good esperience for me.
The all activities are very funny and nice. There can co-operate each others to complete the task that given to us. I cant forget the group that very creative in DJ presentation regards the latest music news.They make it becomes funny untill we all laugh loudly include our lecturer, Ms.Rajina.
The activity that i interest is Drama because it can cooperating each other become more friendly. And i think our creative members will make the drama become funny and unforgettable.

Personally my achievement nowadays are very bad all over in English. Either reading or writing, listening or speaking and the most bad in vocabulary. I look like student year three. I realized that my skill and performance are same to them, with one exception I'm bigger than them. I think so!
I'm reading very slowly and I will go to one by one words. Rerely I don't know what does the words mean. I just understand for a little only. So I will check them in my dictionary to find their meaning and continue my read. It make me feel bored to finish the read finally.
In writing, I don't have any skills in this. Always I have an idea but don't know how to explain them in English version. I also have a problem in grammar. So the past tense will be a present tense and the sentences will be desultory.
However I can be a good listener. But only in a clear and slowly spoken. If someone speak very fast maybe I just can catch a little words.
I can't speak fluently in English. I can understand what people are saying but my tongue already stuck to reply them.
I have a trouble in increasing my vocabulary. It means I have a trouble in English development too. It is because vocabulary is the most important thing in learning English. So increasing the vocabulary must be as important as it's grammar. But I can't do that. Maybe I don't know how to learn it in the easier way.
During presentations, I feel so nervous. Also scared and ashamed if my words got wrong. Sometimes I know what would to say but everything will be wrong in front of the class or audience.
I like participating in discussions. I can give my idea and opinion. Even I can't be the writer because I have a broken English but I'm happy with the coorperation that I given.
In English classes, I like reading activity because I can learn the new vocabulary and I will know the meaning for a little words that I didn't hear before this. Also I can learn how to mention each words in the correct phrase. I don't like writing activity because I don't have any vocabulary and just know a little about grammar. So, for me this activity very hard to done in the class.

Actually because this foundation english class ,my reading skills is better than before because we need to read two english story book,i think about 5 year i no read english story book.
Because the two story books ,my writing skills is improve.

Writing:Before this essay i already do the short essay-'a romantic meeting'-i think this essay i not do very well and didn't prepare my idea but now i have opportunity to do very well so i must come out a good essay better than before.Today homework is writing essay-'where in the world am i'-i will try to do very well even my english are not good but i will try it to do and using the words are i know and learn in the class.
Listening:i can understand the Miss Rajina say in the class but sometime i can't understand when the sentences or the words are very difficult.
Speaking:Now day,i could not scare to speak with miss Rajina and my friends even my friend laugh me when i speak wrong but this can improve my speaking skill from wrong to right.
Vocabulary:i learn more new words(vocabulary)in the class and i can use it to write and speak.Today,i learn about the adjectives words like slim,skinny,voluptuos and other.This words i never hear before but now i already know it so i can use it.
Making presentations:i always feel scare when i present in the class and sometime i pronoun wrongly but nevermind i can pronoun corretly when teaching from miss Rajina.

Reading is a taking in the written word that very important part when we are learning English in our Foundation English class. From this class, I had changed my reading speed.
I had read a book that is about how to increase the reading speed. Why the author wants to change his reading speed? Because the excellent reading speed can increased the comprehension and memory. Beside that, it able to think faster and more creatively, to make better notes, to pass exams with relative ease, to study more successfully, and to save the time.
>>From the program of the writing blog. I usually think about how should I start to write it? It is a problem to me because my English is very poor. When I finished my first project-Penguin Reader Book Review, I felt excited because i believe I can wrote it in creativity and being more imaginative.
>>I’m able to understand what the lecturer – Ms Rajina teaches and tell to us in the class. She will explain in other ways if we cannot grasp the meaning of her. By the way, it helps me to increase overall understanding in the English.

Foundation English class not only can improved my english, it also let me meet more friend. In the class, my reading skill is improved. This is because i need read at least 2 story books. i feel very difficult at the begining, but now i feel the english story book also is interesting. I starting like to read it........ Haha... Beside that, my communication skill is improved fastly cause I must bravely speak out to know my lecturer, friends and classmates. I also elected to be the class leader, so I must communicate with others effectively. Ms Rajina had teach us how to do essay, i think my writing can be improved very well when i finish this course. Last week, i had a presentatiom to be DJ and telling the news in group. my group members discussing and i be the writer of the news. After this activity, i found that writing a news is not easy. I also knew that i must be brave and conffident when i was present. Every English class must present a sketch, I feel this can lets me be more active in the discussion. so, this can help me at the future. inSometimes, I feel bored and lazy. This is because the time is too long. actually, i think the sketch title should not be given because it will made the student not creative. READING: In the Foundation English class, I had read two novel which teacher told us to read. The novel of penguin reader are use the simple word and sentences, it was very easy to understand the meaning. I was very enjoy reading such kind of novel, it will increase my interest in reading.
WRITING: Besides, in the class i need always do the writing activites , no matter for individual or group. I try to write down all the thing I thought, without care about the grammar. From the mistake, I can improve my writing skill, even it’s little, but it’s really work.
LISTENING: In the class, Miss Rajina always speak slowy and cleary to us. I can hear and understand what she say. Beside that, she also repeat the word when we feel confusion.
SPEAKING: Furthermore, I use English to communicate with my friends and teacher. Even is a broken English, I also try my best to let them understand what I’m talking about. This help me be more bravery speak to others. Beside that, speaking activities are also common in the class.
VOCABULARY: There are many new vocabulary I can learn from the class. In class, teacher always explain to us about the unclear or quite difficult word to us. Moreover, she also introduce us the new word which relevant to the text. It was very helpful for me in writing and speaking.
MAKING PRESENTATIONS: My teacher are importance to student’s presentationts, she always want us present in front of the others, no matter dialogue, introduction, or explanation. She intend to let us be more bravery and used to present to others. This was give me a lot of opportunities to present my idea and speak in front of many people. Actually, I had became inured to face to people.
PARTICIPATING DISCUSSIONS: Discussions is a part of the study, we usually join into team and discuss the title which give by Miss Rajina. This activities is very helpful for us brainstorming to thinking about the idea. Moreover, it’s also an opportunities to let us know the each others. I’m very appreciate it.

Writing : Before this Foundation English course, My writing skill is very poor. But now, I have improve my writing skill already. Listening : Actually, I very like to listen miss Rajina speaking. She always use the simple English and explain what that means. When have some difficult word and sentences, she also try to explain to us. It is very helpful to me understand what she talking about in the class. Beside that, she also teach our about the listening skill.
Speaking : I think Miss Rajina speaking skill is very fantastic. When she speak, she is very confident. So, I hope I can become like her. Miss Rajina always encourage and ask for our to speak in English. She also correct my pronunciation. Now when I speak, I can use the correct pronunciation.

Reading : In this Foundation English course, I have improve my reading skill. This is because every week we have to do the reading activity in our class. Besides that, we also do the penguin readers book and the review. I have improve in my pronunciation. On the other hand, I also have learnt many new words.
Writing : Before this, I hate to write essay because I always make many grammar mistakes and lack of ideas. But now, I found that write an essay is not difficult.
Listening : I can understand what Miss Rajina say and taught in the class. She speaks English fluently.
Speaking : Before taking this course, I always communicate with other languages and seldom speak in English. After taking this course, I frequent speak English with my friend. I hope I’ll speak better than before.
Vocabulary : In this Foundation English course, I have learnt many new words. Some of the words, I don’t know the meaning. Later, I refer it to the dictionary to find out the meaning. Sometimes, I’ll use this words in writing and speaking.

First of all, I want to thanks very much to all of the UKM Management Department for the English foundation class that was held for the band 1 and 2 students in UKM. This class give more advantage to the student who still not good in their English skills. It train all the student in more ways and polish their skills and their talent. Thank you very much. I really hope that the entire student can get and use all the experiences in their future.

About the class…….
When we talk about the class, I sure that all of the entire student really like whole the activities that have done. For me, I like whole activities that were done. No more stress, no more tension and no more cried. I enjoyed all the activities and give my best commitment in the class. Moreover, the class was not like secondary schools, it’s more fun and not too bored. We can sing, dance, acting, and many more.
The reading session, for the expert student I think it’s too simple for them, but for me it still complicated.
I try to read and learn more correct pronunciation to be better in my reading. Miss Rajina as my class lecture teaches me how to read as professional person. I like this and I think my reading skills was improve and became better than what I am before.
Writing?. When I heard about writing, I usually say “urgh!!!” . I really don’t like it. But a miracle was happened. When I join this class I like writing. And my friends were really shocked about it. Writing trained me to create ideas and completed my grammar to be the better.
Listening. I like it, because I’m still old in fashion in my listening skills. It makes me be better in my listening skills. I’ll try to catch up and understand what the communicator tries to say. I’ve learned more vocabulary and the slang. But I still confuse about it.
Speaking. This session trained me to be more confident when I talk about something. I really felt nerves when I talk especially in front of the audience. After join this I become a new person. I’m confident when I talk and no more nerves.
Vocabulary. Talk about vocabulary, I’m still weakness in that. When I joined this class I’ve learned more vocabulary and new word that I’ve never heard before.
Making presentation. Making presentation is so hard. We must create the best one because we have to take the audience attention and don’t make them feel bored. This session tell me that the cooperation in work team is so important. We have to manage the group participation to find the information and give ideas. Besides, It trained students to be confident and be more active in their work.
Participating discussion. It’s more like as making presentation .It tell me that participation in all the activities are very important because it gave more benefit and extra experience to enter the new world. I think I be the better now. I confident to give my ideas and my opinion.
About the class
The activity that I really like is drama. Drama trained me to be confident on stage and do not to shy. I’ve to be patience because in drama there are more stress and problem to handle. All of this is about the commitment. The entire student must understand that drama is so hard. To make it perfect, we’ve to practice as usual as we can. Practice make perfect. If one of the actress or the actor was not there, so we can’t practice. And may be certain entire student felt down and our drama was bad. It’s like a child drama. Do you want it happen?. So, the commitment is very important for all of us to make something done as what we want. And may be one of us can be the actor or actress in Malaysia one day. I really hope that all of us could give their best commitment and wish you good luck in our show…. Thank you..
The activity that I disliked is Longman program. I know it really good for us but it’s too complicated. Actually, I like it but the place. We have to go to library lab and done the project. The place is too small and we have to waiting for a long time to wait for our turn. The lab could not give their best service because of this. We have to challenge about more than hundred students to do this project. I suggest that the management department could solve this problem. Thank for the attention, it is for our benefit.

DEAR MISS RAJINA:
Foundation english course are really improve my English from many aspect.I can improve my reading from the activity penguin reader. The penguin reader books we choose from library is easy to understand for me. The eassy we do in class from the course book are also has improve my writing skills.
for one of the eassy i know that many descriptions on how to prepare the favourite drink and dish.The more give me benifits at this course in the listening skills is the online learning that are talk between 2 person.The language camp activity gives opportunity that we can speak we eachother in class.The online learning are lets me know more vacabulary and this will help me in the writing skills. I get also get the knowledge in the specified area of the reseach and improve my presentation skills at the project work. the language camp activity also improved my presentation skills like one of the activity are as a DJ that i still remember are very fun. The projects work are giving me and groups members participating discussions, responsible to search information and brainstorm the work. The activity in english classes i likes is the english camp activity because at the activity we will separate in a smaller group and making activity . the activity i dislike is the longman program because that program is need do at the library and wait for long time to take over turn. Besides that the air-cond is very cool in the library.

These are what was I learn on Foundation English class.
Reading:
i'm really enjoyed reading the penguin Readers series.This kind of book is quite easy to understanding.Most of the stories are very interesting and attractive.
At library,have many 'penguin reader'for us to choose to read.But,each time we just can borrow 2 hours only.It made us just can sit at library and read only or need to photostat and bring it back to read(It is very waste our time to photocopy and waste our money).I hope the penguin reader series can borrow back and I must the first person borrow this kind of books frequently.
I can improve my reading skills by reading these book.
Writing:
Actually my writing is very poor.
My grammar is not good,but i still learn it at class and the longman online program.But,the module is not enough to learn writing.It Is better if the module add more numerous model essays which illustrate how to writing effectively and concentrate we'r grammar learning.
Listening and speaking:
I like listen when Miss Rajina spoke,is was quite good and when i listen i tried to learn how to speak too.As I known when we speak the pronounce is very important, and we must not fear to speak and must speak frequently.This is what I learn from class.
Vocabulary:
I really learn more vocabulary through reading,speaking, and listening.
Making Presentations:
I and my group members really very effort to complete this project work.We researh internet to get more information, made powerpoint attractive and demonstrating before we went to present.
However,when I'm really present on class,i became frightened and some of the information I forgot to present.I think I really need to improve my presentation skills again.
Although my presentation is not very good,but I learn to became responsible autonomous learnerand I got knowledge in specified area of my research.
Participating Discussions:
From the participating discussion,I learn how to cooperate with my classmate and became more active.Our drama is the most need class discussion.It need much creative and innovative.
Besides this,I also learn how to be tolerance,be brave and be confidence.So far,we communicate are no promblem and sometimes we really happy course something is very funny.
I like the longman Online Program. It is an informative,easy-to-use grammar and practice text which focuses on the most common problem areas of english faced by me.
It takes an innovative,learner-friendly approach which allows me to assume more control over my own learning.Each unit begin with a pretest that anables me to determine my weaknesses.In addition,the learning notes and explanations are deliberately kept short and simple to understanding.

In my class,i had chance to read personal and with my friends in the class miss Rajina made correction if we are not read properly.usually,she will correctionabout pronounce.Now,i can read properly with correct pronounce.i become better now inenglish and it not like before this.i bad in reading.Before i forget,we also must read a story frompeguin books and make summary.what we read about that story.
writing:-
throught i was studied in this foundation class,if someone ask to make a compositioni can do the best.its better before this.during my class session,miss Rajina teach howto make writing good.she teach from a to z!Grammar is most impotant in writing.how to makesentence in present tense,past tense,simple present and past and more.it is so usefulfor me.we also ask to do this blog.This is some method to improve our writing.
Listening:-
during our class sesson,we ask to do longman project.In this project we must do excercise.Its it about any thing like grammar,pronounce,pronoun and speaking and one of that islistening.we had to listen what the computer say and fill in the blank in the text.when ilisten to the voice, it has some slank.
speaking:-i really like this session.in tye class,we all must speak in english although we are speak wrongly.our teacher wil make corection.sometime it so funny!huhuhu...we all must act in the class.example,weask to do short act and spontaneous.wih this,it practise my speaking.now i feel better in speakingalthough sometime i had speak wrongly!hehehe...
vocabulary:-
vocabulary now good.i had collect new vocabulary.its help me in writing and reading.i got man wordwhere i never heard before this.we also know how to use idiom and its mean.with the handout we got,it isuseful for me.easy to understood.i also got many new word from reading peguin books.The mummy returns!
Making presenation:-
we also do a presenation.first by group where we must do one poject.my group choose to make a advertisment.we use slideshow.its depend to the group.second was about a drama.each class must present one drama.our class choose cinderella to present o the stage.it's a competition with another class.with thisi dont become shy again to present anthing.It is teach me to confident!
Participating discussin:-
when discussion,some of study not involve.i had involve in discussion.usually,discussion make in a group.it really good.this discussion also involve with our teacher.
ok.,for the activities i like is games.hehehe..it is games while study.example we singing and act.i feel so happy and so sad to end of this class.I also like our teacher,she is a god teacher and she make our class cheerful.that all! Reading: Bwfore this my reading skill very poor because i can't pronounce the difficult word. After i'm attend to class, i had some improvement in reading skill. i also like to read pegiun reader's book because it easy to understand.
listentig: Listening is more easy to me and i can understand everyone said in class.
speaking: everyday i try to speak in english and pronuonce the difficult word to improve my speaking skill.
Vacabulary: i had lead many new word in class. sometime leading the new word is fun...
Making Presentation: When we had a presentation in front of our friend, we can feel confident to speak to everyone but sometime we feel nervous,maybe haven't prepare it..

in this short blog,i'll tell all of you about my skill
in english.
fisrt,my reading skill.i know that reading is very important
to student like us.because all of reference book in english.
so,i think reading practice is the main way to make our
tounge fluent in english.but,i'm too lazy to do that.
but,i'll keep trying it by find the interesting english book.
if i think about writing,i'll be think about grammar.
yes,this is the main problem to me to write in english.
i'm only learn from book.so anyone want to teach me grammar?
for me,listening in english is so difficult if i speak with
american people,because i can't listen them clearly.
so i practice with film.in one side,i get an entertainment.
in the other side i learn many skill english,like a vocabulary,
listening skill,how to speak a word,and other slang.
speking is main way to communicate in english.
learning by doing may be the best way to do it.
but i speak in english only in english class.
in outside,i use malay or indonesian (so my english doesns't improve dramtically)
i think the vocabulary is second class needed in english skill.
i know it's important,but i think the application is more important
than only know about a new vocabulary.but it's very important to
improve our english to next level.
making presentations is a interesting work for me.because as a business student
i like to make a something interest to people.it's to develop my creativity
in making interest presentation.

Before I post my blog, I would like to introduce myself, my name Muhammad Ilham Reza Syahputra, I came from Jakarta, Indonesia. Now, I’ve been taking English foundation class. This class start at AM 09.00 every morning, 4 times in a week. I think this is so early for me, because I’ve to wake up at AM 07.00 every morning n waiting for rapid KL bus. This class is very excited, because I found a lot of new friend in this class with different character. This class have a lot of activities beside that.
I think, my English skill is improve since I attend this class. In reading I feel good enough improvement. The lecture let us to read a long …. Even though I can’t read well, I have to read it. So, I feel an improvement in reading,
In the class, lecture often give us an assignment. Among those assignment, there is writing activities. Before that, I can’t writing an article well, although I know a lot of tenses and vocabulary. But, my lecture said, if think you can, you can do that. So, I have to try until I can write an article well. And I feel better in writing.
For me, the most difficult things in English is speaking. I have a lot of problem while speaking. Even though I know about tenses, I always can’t speak well. In the class, the lecturer always used English while she teach us, and when she give an question too. All o my friend always used English in the class. When we discuss about activities in the class, they used English also. So, although I can’t speak English well, I feel that I must able to do that.
Because always used English during in the class, so I feel my listening skill is improve..
I was still being used to hear my friend speaking English quickly. During presentation, I learned to be able to speak in front of many friends. I felt I must be able to speak well and could send the message and what we do.
Finally, I would like to apologize if I have many mistakes during write this blog, because I just an ordinary man that was studying English. And I was very happy could be in this class, because this class is the most excited class while I study in UKM. And, thanks to Miss Rajina because she has teach me a lot of things about English, so I can improve my English skill. And I’m sorry because I often coming late to the class. Hehehe…
